Demna's iconic 'Trompe L'oeil' denim has become a Balenciaga staple, mapping the look of washed denim onto dense, fluid viscose through a direct-to-garment printing process. Here for SS21, the high waisted loose legged trompe l'oeil viscose 'denim' features an attached shirt panel that is sewn into the back waistband and outseam and drapes like a skirted panel. Fully constructed sleeves and curved hem are all finished with the same printed faded denim texture. The many layers of viscose drape like silk around the body and create a dynamic, fluid look while in motion.
Finished with shank button waist closure and zipper fly, 5 pocket jean styling (though back patch pockets are not the most accessible), and blind tailored hem.
